ID vs The Oxford Union. And Edinburgh

And so..... the Instigate Debate General Election POLITICAL CIRCUS ROLLS INTO THE ACADEMIES OF POWER.

Tuesday 27th April

Instigate Debate VS The Oxford Union

A panel of Carl Barat (The Libertines), Jon McClure (Reverend and the Makers), Mark Donne, Drew McConnell (Babyshambles) and emerging singer songwriter Kieran Leonard will go head to head with members of the world famous Oxford Union - known as the training ground of global politicians and heads of state.

The motion debated will be "Is the Party Over" following an ID survey of young voters. Musical anarchy will follow.

1st Instigate general election event announced: PANEL: Dame Vivienne Westwood, Harriet Harman, Peter Tatchell, Simon Hughes, Jeremy Hunt.

MUSIC: The Magic Numbers, Rose Elinor Dougall, SHLOMO (Beatbox Artist)
We also need people to submit a 100 word argument on why (or why not) 'the party is over' - on why political parties and the present political arena cannot provide the positive changes the electorate seek, or 100 words outlining why a party political system is essential. Submit your 100 word entry to the comments section of the link below and the best two arguments will be submitted as motions on the night, and whichever motion wins the vote, free gig time:

Announcement and Tickets

The Instigate event, held with The Independent on 26th April at the Union Chapel, London on 26th April, will be an extraordinary affair.

Tickets will be availiable here next week ( 25th March) with a full line up for the debate itself and the artists performing either side of it.
